Who would have thought this day would ever come. Yes I am back on the updates. Hopefully this update finds everyone well and in good health.
We are all doing fairly well here, we are just trying desperately to stay cool. We have now had two weeks straight of triple-digit temperatures. What's worse is that we know it's only going to get worse in the coming months.
OK, so on to the updates.
Jasper is doing great. He's been really doing well in school and is now only two weeks away from graduating Kindergarten. It's been really amazing to see how much he's learned this year, especially considering he came into the class two months behind everyone else and is the youngest member of his class.
He's already doing math at a first grade level and his reading is really impressive. Hopefully you all will get the opportunity to see his progress in the near future.
Jasper is also taking swimming classes. He has only been to two classes so far, but he's starting to get the hang of the drill and has already come to the realization that when he goes underwater, it is probably a good idea to close your mouth.
My work is going well. I will begin changing some of my responsibilities at work over the coming weeks, moving away from handling projects for the Saratoga, NY office and working on projects for the Scottsdale office instead. I am excited about this move because it means I will be expanding my skills and hopefully lead to a promotion in the near future.
I don't know who was aware of this, but after our last trip to California (last year) Harley, our dog, had an incident while we were away. He was being boarded at a place called "Puppy Palace" and while he was there, he got bit by another dog. The staff at the facility neglected to tell us and didn't even treat the bite. We only discovered it upon our return and we ended up having to take him to our vet and get him on some antibiotics.
This was especially disappointing because up until then, we had really liked the boarding facility, but we will no longer use their service. After months of searching for a new boarding facility, it appears we have finally found one in a place called "Camp Bow Wow." It's a nice place with attentive staff and they have 24-hour web cams set up inside the facility, so you can watch your dog while you are away. This is great news and we have already booked them for our next trip to Oceanside.
I know with the extreme time passed between posts, I should have a lot more to share, but at the moment, I am drawing a blank, but I promise I will post again this week and find something interesting to share ... that or I'll just make something up.
Take care.
